PM Ask Foreigner States to Stop Supporting Workers' to Strike in Cambodia

Sihanoukville: Prime Minister Hun Sen has warned foreigners who support the workers' strike in Cambodia to withdraw because Cambodia has its own laws and sovereignty.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of Sihanoukville Port, celebrating the 70th anniversary of Cambodia-Japan relations and International Labor Day this morning, May 1, 2023, at Sihanoukville Port, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that the Cambodian government knows all foreign money transfers who support workers protesting in Cambodia and foreign plans for Cambodian workers to protest on International Labor Day.

"Some unions in Cambodia are foreign-funded unions," he said.

He said that what he really wants is not to respect the rights of workers only on May 1, but for workers forever.
